Our preliminary data found that the CDI method was able to discriminate individual patients with early cognitive changes before clinically detectable findings were present on the PET scan with excellent sensitivity. After further validation and testing, the CDI should be fully translatable for use in the clinical evaluation of FDG PET scans for MCI. Further, the CDI appears sensitive enough to be used as a screening test for MCI.
